After some serious thought prompted by some rather nerve-wracking occurrences in my life I have decided to re-prioritize things. Let me state that contrary to what many will argue in my defense (or at least I should hope so), I am irresponsible, immature, and dangerously lacking proper time management skills. My Internet activities are gaining recognition as my sites garner more dedicated users. However, my social life is comparable to that of one locked in solitary confinement and if that was not awful enough I have been receiving unsatisfactory marks in school.
So my dilemma is this: should I sacrifice valuable computer time to attend to my studies and my obvious deficiency of social contact? Well, I have come to the conclusion that Hogwarts Live - the site that demands the most of my precious time - is approaching a “critical mass” of sorts. So I will leave it to the players to promote it and to the moderates to keep those players in check. This may turn out to be a terrible decision but it is imperative that I focus my attention on matters that society and my parents deem pivotal to achieving success in life. I will also be seeking the guidance of a school councilor in order to form a plan to help me better manage my time.
As part of this altered focus of mine I will also devote more time and energy to providing valuable content and custom coding for my numerous websites. I believe I will be able to effectively accomplish this by alienating myself from the affairs of my users as well as through engaging in a daily routine of exercise, study, and other productive endeavors. I also will be better defining this blog, by posting movie and book reviews, open source solutions, religious and political insights, and other pertinent updates (unlike this one).
If I am not the quintessence of the word “ramble” then I fear to know who is, and with that and a thousand other digressions I’ll leave you be.
sounds like a hard decision, but a good plan… School and work plus projects like hogwartslive–balancing all that would be tough. But your plan sounds good–and of course, I’m happy to help out with hogwartslive.com as much as possible. It would, I imagine, be all too easy to get dragged into the squabbles that take place in the chat areas. I’ve read them, seen them, slowed down to look as if at a car accident, but just keep going.
Again, sounds like you’re doing the right thing. HogwartsLive with new staff coming on soon will surely help too. Ease the burden however you can.
