When I drag & drop files from my Nikon camera to my Mac the created date is changed to -- and the modified dates is set to the time and date when the files was created. Then when I modify the picture, the original date is lost because it changes to the new modified date.

Hi guys - it works but then if you drop the pictures back to iphoto (drag and drop) it resets the original date and time... as if the trace is still there... iphoto appears to be taking its original information from somewhere else even if the meta data has been changed as above... worth exploring further I think.

hey,

i also got a problem with the
i can't change the creation date with the '-t' parameter, only if i set it back to past. thats very unhandy.

the function 'setfile' is much better. its very easy to change the both (creation & modification) dates to whatever you want (future or past).

in example:
to change the creation date:

- mask
setfile -d "mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm" path
- your 21th birthday
setfile -d "01/12/2008 00:00" /Volumes/Mac\ HD/Pictures/somefile.jpg

to change the modification date:
- mask
setfile -m "mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm" path
- your 21th birthday
setfile -m "01/12/2008 00:00" /Volumes/Mac\ HD/Pictures/somefile.jpg

greetings,
jonas
